I'm the author of both of these and they're from the Inuyasha fandom. ^^;

The Little Mermaid on ff.net or on mediaminer.org
Rating: T
Genre: Romance/Angst
Pairing: TeenRin/Sess
Chapters: One-shot, so one. (17551 words)
Status: Complete
Summary: A first-person retelling of Hans Christian Anderson's beloved tale: Rin is a young mermaid who sacrifices everything for Lord Sesshoumaru, the land dweller she comes to love.
Warnings: Some disturbing imagery, one brief, vague sex scene, a little violence and character death.

Notes:
The Last Day was inspired by the Terri Schiavo case as well as how I feel about a person's right to die with dignity. The only way to pull it off is to take one of THE MOST dignified characters on the show and have him reveal his stance on death with dignity. You'll see what I mean if you read the story. I've gotten nothing but good reviews for this one on ff.net, some of which are from people who don't even know the fandom.

I wrote my TLM fic to see if I could pull off a retelling of the story while still holding true to the setting of the Inuyasha series. I think I did all right ~_^ I think the reason a lot of fics that try to be retellings of fairy tales fail is instead of taking the tale to the setting of the fandom universe, people try to take the characters from the fandom and throw them into the setting of the tale, which doesn't make any sense at all.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at this.
